Balanced Breastfeeding Support Group: Your Position, Baby’s Latch

March 11 EST @ 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm

A free, virtual group for any breastfeeding parent, feeding their baby in any way in about the first five months postpartum and pregnant families interested in learning more about the experience of breastfeeding.

You will receive:

  • Live teaching from Katie Madden RN, IBCLC
  • Downloadable learning materials to accompany the weekly topic
  • Opportunity for Q&A time on the weekly topic with Katie

What does “feeding your baby in any way mean?” Balanced Breastfeeding is an inclusive space for any lactating parent. It is a space for those who make a full supply of breastmilk for their babies, and those who combination feed with any amount of formula. It is a space for those who express their milk with a breast pump and those who nurse their babies by latching directly at the breast.

If you are postpartum, make milk, or are pregnant and hope to make milk, these groups are for you.

This Week’s Topic: Your Position, Baby’s Latch

If your baby is latching to your breast, or “nursing,” it must be comfortable and effective for you and your baby.

First, we will zoom out on body mechanics and positioning and discuss the use of support pillows and props. Second, we will zoom into latch and understand how to know if baby’s latch is “deep” and “correct.”
